Small Wedding Benefits: Becoming the New Normal

I believe that intimate weddings or “small” weddings are going to be the new normal once everything starts to reopen. We aren’t going to be able to just start having large events or weddings right away, especially because there is no vaccine yet for the coronavirus and there are still uncertainties with the virus.

We are going to have to pivot and think of ways to adjust to this “new normal” and I believe having small, intimate weddings are going to be one outcome of that.

Some people may be upset about this, but honestly there are so many benefits to having a small wedding.

Benefits to having a small wedding:

  1. Cost effective: You won’t have to spend as much on all the people attending your wedding and if you have the budget you can use it on other things to make your wedding look beautiful. Maybe that might be, paying that extra for the upgraded table linens or putting that money towards beautiful floral arrangements and centerpieces or specialty cocktails, whatever it may be. Now you can use that money towards making your wedding look as beautiful as you want it.

  2. More Venue Options: When you have a smaller wedding more venues become available because you no longer are meeting their maximum capacity. My favorite venue for small, intimate weddings is Christmas House Inn & Gardens located in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. Christmas House Inn is the perfect place for an intimate wedding, it has that backyard feel, but in an elevated, elegant way. The house is beautiful and the backyard is a garden you can only dream of. They have everything in-house to make the planning process easier and have the intimate wedding of your dreams.

  3. Quality Time with Your Guests: Have you been to a big wedding and you see the couple spending their time going table to table greeting everyone during the reception instead of enjoying the party? Well with a small wedding you’re able to enjoy your reception because there aren’t as many people you have to go around and greet. A small wedding enables you to spend more intimate, quality time with each of your guests.

  4. DIY: If you are someone who enjoys DIY projects then having a smaller wedding means less time spent on crafting. Also, you’ll be spending less on the materials for the DIY craft you are creating.

  5. Less Stress: You no longer have the stress of having 100 people to impress. When you have 10 - 30 guests attending your wedding it is a lot less stressful than 100. Of course weddings will always be a little stressful regardless of the amount of guests because it is a big day for you and an event that will happen once in a lifetime, but any stress that is taken off of you is a win.
