4th of July Backdrop DIY
4th of July is coming up and what better way to celebrate than to create a backdrop that you can use as a photo moment or decor! This 4th of July DIY fringe backdrop I made into the American flag using red, white and blue plastic table cloth strips.
It’s easy, it doesn’t take long to make and it doesn’t break the bank. This is the DIY of your dreams. I’ve made a couple of these fringe backdrops now and they are fun to get creative with. Instead of just using the colors red, white and blue, I wanted to create a flag.
I like my backdrops to be a little spontaneous, so they don’t have perfect lines. You can tell it’s the American flag, but it’s a little more abstract. This backdrop was a fun one to make and I hope you enjoy making it too!
SUPPLIES:
(2) white plastic table cloths (this is a link to a 3 pack, but might be useful if you want to make a larger backdrop)
Plastic Hooks (or something to hang the backdrop)
DIRECTIONS:
First cut the plastic fencing to the size you’d like. Mine is 3.5’ W x 4’ H
Take the plastic table cloth and cut them into strips. The strips are 2’ L
Then start tying the strips onto the fence. I have a short demo video HERE
I started off with tying the blue in the top left corner which represents the portion on the flag where the stars are.
I then started making the stripes of the flag with the red and white. I like that more scattered look of the fringe so I made sure to put the strips at different heights once they were attached.
Then I added some white strips to the blue section the represent the stars on the flag.
Then I trimmed the strips a bit to make them a little shorter.
Wah-lah you have a fringe backdrop for your 4th of July party!
The strips I cut were a little long so I cut most of them in half to give it a little shorter look.
I added some white streamers to the blue section to represent the stars on the American flag!
