Last weekend my husband and I celebrated our 2 year wedding anniversary in Joshua Tree! With COVID 19 around, we were limited where we could travel to and we wanted to do something where we could, 1. get outdoors, 2. wasn’t too far away from LA and 3. we could do it in a weekend.

Hiking

We left Los Angeles at around 9am and got to Joshua Tree at around 11:30am. We went to Hidden Valley Trail and it was HOT, so be prepared with lots of water. We had our dog with us and dogs aren’t allowed on the main trail, so we went to another tra…

We had our dog with us and dogs aren’t allowed on the main trail, so we went to another trail around the area. The trail was mostly for people who wanted to rock climb, but there weren’t any rock climbers, so it actually worked out in our favor because it was secluded from the crowds of people.

Note: There is a $30 entrance fee into the park

Picnicking

Hidden Valley also has picnic areas with picnic tables, so after our hike we had a picnic!

A lot of the stores weren’t open because of COVID 19, but it was still fun to walk around and check out the area.

Eat, Relax & Sleep

It was the perfect size for my husband, myself and our little dog. They have plenty of games to play, Netflix is setup and ready to use and they have a little backyard with a BBQ, which we used of course. There were plenty of restaurants around the area or if you want a nice dinner Palm Springs is about a 20 min drive.

In the morning we woke up, made breakfast and headed back to LA. It was the perfect, quick, romantic, fun, weekend getaway!
